A Cloud Migration Checklist for Business Owners
Before migrating, identify dependencies, define recovery targets, and decide how you will test the new environment without disrupting customers.

Inventory what the system depends on
Document domains, databases, file storage, scheduled jobs, integrations, access roles, and any manual step that keeps operations running. Identify which parts are essential on day one and which can move later.
Agree the recovery plan
Define acceptable downtime and data loss, back up the source, and test how rollback would work. A migration plan without a recovery route puts customers and staff at unnecessary risk.
Validate the complete customer journey
Test account access, forms, checkout, notifications, analytics, and mobile behavior after the move. Monitor logs and performance through a defined stabilization period. Plan hosting and infrastructure around these operational needs.
